The Aseema Trust was delighted to collaborate with The US Consulate General Chennai in hosting a Poetry Slam competition for students aged 18 – 25 on gender based violence. 68 students registered for the competition. K.Ishvar and Akhila Ramnarayan judged the bilingual competition in English and Tamil on 21st November 2024 and they were joined by P.Mary Vidya Porselvi at the Finals on 4th December 2024. It was a delightful event presided over by Consul General Chris Hodges who presented certificates to participants and winners. He also gave a beautiful speech where he emphasised on the power of words and individual efforts. Well known poet Ms.Rajathi Salma was the chief guest. Dr.V.R.Devika, founder of the Aseema Trust made the closing remarks.
